Your toddler is learning to become more and more independent. For example, it will learn to butter its own bread, put on its own coat, and drink from a glass. They will also be offered ‘activities’. We pay close attention to what your child likes or finds interesting, and what it can and wants to develop further.
With toddlers, we bring the real world inside, a world that is closely linked to their own experiences. We listen to what they tell themselves and use that as a basis for meaningful play. “Have you been to the zoo? What animals did you see? How did you get there? Maybe in our group we could also make a train? How could we do that?” In this way, we stimulate the child’s natural curiosity.
At MAM’s Childcare, attention is central in dealing with your child. From this attention comes wonderment. Children develop naturally when they are in a prepared environment with inviting materials. They have an intrinsic drive for self-development. Our specialists mainly take on a coaching and observing role. They look at the child’s interests and give them room to show initiative.
As your child grows older, they will slowly make the transition to school. As a childcare provider, we make sure we maintain close contact with the school. This can be done, for example, by letting the children play in the schoolyard or participate in certain lessons. In this way, we strive to make the transition from childcare to school as smooth and natural as possible.
